Anne lives in the idillic village of Elie in the East Neuk of Fife. During her working life she had the opportunity to work with colour. She was a Shoe Accessories and Gift Buyer of an upmarket retailer which had branches all over Scotland. She loved working with colour and was never happier than mixing three shades of the same colour into a pair of shoes.
On her retirement several years ago she decided to take up painting and joined the St Andrews Art Club. Her favourite medium is oil but she also paints in acrylics. Originally she used a brush but changed to a palate knife, as she found it gave her paintings more texture.
Living on the beautiful Fife coastline, she is very fond of painting seascapes. Anne is fascinated by the movement of the sea which is constantly changing, never are two days the same. She also paints cottage flowers and sometimes ventures into abstract landscapes. For a while she dabbled in framing her own artwork, to keep the cost of her work down. Now she has decided it takes up too much of her time and prefers to leave it to the experts. She does however, still get involved in choosing natural shades and colours that compliment her paintings.
For several years now, she has held Summer Exhibitions in her own home at “Roseville” Links Place, Elie and this year is no exception. She is opening her door to welcome people to view her art from 28th July until 12th August 2018. There will be prints and cards available of some of her paintings.
Anne has also started doing Bed & Breakfast through the online agency, Air BnB, in part of her home.
